One of the rarest desks in the world! This French ‘bureau plat’ was made in the 1880s in Paris by Maison Beurdeley, one of the city’s top ateliers. An extremely rare antique, the only other example incorporating Japanese lacquer panels belonged to Mr Beurdeley himself and can be seen in an old black and white photo of his home on the Rue de Clichy.
